I purchased these to place on our back sliding doors so I'd know when the children went outside. I enjoy the chime feature, its loud adequate to hear by means of most of the home. They go on so conveniently, and are inexpensive. The alarm function is LOUD...so they'd operate amazing for that purpose, too. There is also an off switch, so that is nice.
I read the other reviews ahead of posting this one particular. In the very first review, the poster stated the alarm was loud sufficient to hear, in most of the residence. I consider that is a perfectly accurate statement.
The cause, I am only giving these alarms an average rating (three star) is due to the fact I want to be in a position to hear an alarm throughout all the entire residence! I want the alarm to be loud sufficient to wake me in a dead sleep, from the other side of the home! I want an intrusion alarm to be loud enough to wake my neighbors (and there is NO way these alarms will)!
The package claimed the alarms had been 120 db. As somebody who is familiar with decibels, I can guaranty these alrms are NOWHERE close to 120 db!
